Ohhhh the baked beans girl 。。。 I'm glad she got her own story。 Did not see the ending coming at all, but it makes total sense。 Note- one minor LGBTQ character, mentioned towards the end Ohhhh the baked beans girl 。。。 I'm glad she got her own story。 Did not see the ending coming at all, but it makes total sense。 Note- one minor LGBTQ character, mentioned towards the end 。。。more

This was a decent book。 I was able to finish it quickly。 The story was simple and interesting。 I liked Ruby and most of the side characters。 I found Mia to be an all around unlikable character。 The book does have a plot twist at the end。 I wish they had let us spend a little bit more time with the characters after the plot twist to really let it settle in。 That would have been nice。 I think a lot of people reading this book might even gloss right over the plot twist because it was just so quick。 This was a decent book。 I was able to finish it quickly。 The story was simple and interesting。 I liked Ruby and most of the side characters。 I found Mia to be an all around unlikable character。 The book does have a plot twist at the end。 I wish they had let us spend a little bit more time with the characters after the plot twist to really let it settle in。 That would have been nice。 I think a lot of people reading this book might even gloss right over the plot twist because it was just so quick。 Either way, I would say that I enjoyed this book overall。 。。。more

Narrated by Ruby and Mia, Libensen’s graphic novel has two stories。The first is about Ruby, the girl who is known for rushing to the restroom。The second story is about Mia and her campaign to become class president。The two characters intersect after being given detention。A funny adventure that has a positive message about coucilong/therapy 。

Graphic NovelReaders first meet Ruby and meet her as she sees herself - large, klutzy, invisible。 She used to have a best friend, Mia, but they don't speak any longer。 We then meet Mia and get to see how different she is from Ruby。 Mia is running for Student President and that is the driving focus of her life。 Sadly, she alienates her friends and boyfriend and is still struggling from whatever happened with Ruby。 As the story unfolds, readers are given hints on their relationship and see how the Graphic NovelReaders first meet Ruby and meet her as she sees herself - large, klutzy, invisible。 She used to have a best friend, Mia, but they don't speak any longer。 We then meet Mia and get to see how different she is from Ruby。 Mia is running for Student President and that is the driving focus of her life。 Sadly, she alienates her friends and boyfriend and is still struggling from whatever happened with Ruby。 As the story unfolds, readers are given hints on their relationship and see how they interact with their respective parents。 Kudos to Libenson for showing how Ruby finds her passion and blooms when she connects with new friends and shares her poetry。 We also see Mia figure out what is important and make some changes to balance her life too。 No spoilers but the ending pulls the whole book into place。 。。。more

This graphic novel follows two middle school girls who used to be friends but don't have much in common anymore。。。or do they? The characters were developed from background characters of Terri Libenson's previous Emmie and Friends books。 I really enjoyed getting to meet these characters, as they were a little more grounded than some of the other Emmie and Friends characters。 The end of the story has a twist that worked for me, which left the book feeling fun at the end。 This graphic novel follows two middle school girls who used to be friends but don't have much in common anymore。。。or do they? I don’t know why but I constantly wanted to keep reading this book bc of the animation but the ending really shocked me and was really unexpected。 So overall I would recommend this bc what the characters went through were very relatable to me

Remarkably Ruby is the perfect little story about navigating middle school。 Ruby is a girl with nervous stomach issues and is a loner。 Throughout the story she finds her strengths, makes new friends and heals old wounds。 On the other hand Mia is a girl who has become obsessed with becoming the 9th grade class president。 She struggles with her best friends and her boyfriend while campaign。 The story follows the two girls until they collide with a fun little twist at the end。 I realized after I bo Remarkably Ruby is the perfect little story about navigating middle school。 Ruby is a girl with nervous stomach issues and is a loner。 Throughout the story she finds her strengths, makes new friends and heals old wounds。 On the other hand Mia is a girl who has become obsessed with becoming the 9th grade class president。 She struggles with her best friends and her boyfriend while campaign。 The story follows the two girls until they collide with a fun little twist at the end。 I realized after I bought this book that it is a part of a series。 The great thing is that I Don't think the stories are connected other than mentioning the other characters。 After reading Ruby's and Mia's stories I really want to read the others! This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This is a great series。 This particular book was okay。 Not as interesting as the others but not bad。 I did like that it dealt with ex-friends learning to talk it out and work together。 I’m also glad it touched on young love and relationships (like between Mia and Trevor)。 It also includes Juan in love with a boy。 I like that LGBTQ+ is included。 I can’t wait for another addition to the series in the future。

I’ve been reading these books for like four years (I’m still too old for them) but I love them to death!!! I love when comic relief characters get fleshed out and they get character development。 The Rummikub and Phineas and Ferb references were very personal callouts and this book was really fun as with the others in this series :)

Livia

I liked how it switched between Mia and Ruby。

Not to sure somewhere between a 3 & a 4。I loved how this connected to the Positively Izzie! Plus that Terri Libenson twist( as me & my sister call it ) was amazing at the end! One thing I could have done without in this book, but。。。 the rest was as usual, AMAZING!There was one thing that I could have done without but。。。

True-to-life story of growing up and apart, with a twist at the end。

As always a good story with a twist at the end that I never see coming! This one is one of the more heftier ones but it's still a quick read because you get so engrossed in what is happening。 As always a good story with a twist at the end that I never see coming! As always I enjoyed Terri's true to life look at life in middle school, with humor。 The characters are just like your own friends or people you knew。 Love to watch them grow into themselves。 Thanks Terri for a fun filled, struggle with great graphics。 Keep them coming you always entertain。 As always I enjoyed Terri's true to life look at life in middle school, with humor。 The characters are just like your own friends or people you knew。 Love to watch them grow into themselves。 Thanks Terri for a fun filled, struggle with great graphics。 Keep them coming you always entertain。 。。。more

Such a good series of books and this one didn’t disappoint。 Love the twist at the end。

I LOVE all of Terri’s books in this series! She really captures the middle school experience。 I think this one might be my favorite。 I also love how there’s always a twist at the end when the stories come together。 This may have been one of the biggest surprises to date。 Or maybe it was one of the sweetest。

Baked Bean girl finally gets her own book! It's a tale of friends and family, young romance and school politics。 Plus, there's a really cute photo of the author's dog。 A treat! 5/5 starsBy far the best book in the series。 I loved the twist! Ruby and Mia were very relatable。 I'm hoping for a book about Sarah next (or maybe Juan or Leah) :D 5/5 starsBy far the best book in the series。 I loved the twist! 3。5 stars rounded up to 4。 I like this author and her graphic novel series。 I think she writes strong stories with the dual storylines and draws great pictures。 However, this book fell a bit flat for me because I wasn’t a fan of the Ruby character。 I didn’t even know who she was from the previous books until the reference was made to “baked bean girl。” She was just comic relief in the other books so I was surprised the author decided to make her the main character in this story。 Not really a “re 3。5 stars rounded up to 4。 I like this author and her graphic novel series。 I think she writes strong stories with the dual storylines and draws great pictures。 However, this book fell a bit flat for me because I wasn’t a fan of the Ruby character。 I didn’t even know who she was from the previous books until the reference was made to “baked bean girl。” She was just comic relief in the other books so I was surprised the author decided to make her the main character in this story。 Not really a “remarkable” story or character, but I will still read future books by Terri Liebenson。 。。。more

What a great ending to the series。 The book had high points and low points。 I have to admit some of the behavior in this book drove me crazy。 Al in all another great middle school book that highlights some of the many challenges that show up in these weird years。 (And just like that I sound all old and wise) This book really hits home about how friendships change, whether we acknowledge it or not。

Fiona

I liked the ending of the book! So surprising, I'm not going to spoil it but seems like a lot of thought out work to hide the plot twist。 It made sense though, just had to think for a few。 I liked the ending of the book!
